This is my seventh and so far latest tattoo done in at Zulu Tattoo Dublin. It is a ship in the sea surrounded by a frame and a shamrock under it. This tattoo is the beginning of “my own way with God” and it started when I first left home last year to be “alone with God” in a different country to work as au pair (God sent me to Ireland, hence the shamrock).
The sea is the life we are all living. Sometimes it can be very calm, nice and sweet, you float on it like you fly - life can be the same: easy and lovely. But sometimes the sea is rough and dangerous - life can be too - very often. The ship is a picture for me in the sea of life. Jesus is my captain ‘cause after years of trying it on my own, he saved me from the storms of life and guides me with an ease and grace I can only admire and love. The harbour my ship comes to are pictures of places and people we meet during our walk with God. Everytime you arrive, you bring something from yourself and when you leave, you take so much more with you (e.g. friendships, advice). You will never forget the harbours, the places and people you met, and they will always be part of God’s journey for you. So for all of our lives I really hope Jesus will be your captain and guide you as perfectly as he guides me through every rough moment.
